Fantastic Baked Salmon

Hands down my go-to easy and delicious meal! Dinner party to busy night, this recipe is so simple and and yet so delicious.

Ingredients

Basic Salmon

  • 1.5 lbs fresh salmon
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • salt, pepper

Seasoning Mix

  • 1 lemon slices
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder or dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper

Instructions

Seasoning Mix

  • Combine all seasoning mix ingredients except the lemon.

Salmon

  • Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper.
  • Place your whole salmon filet on the pan with the skin side down. If needed, gently rinse or wipe away any stray scales.
  • Sprinkle on desired seasoning mix and salt and pepper.
  • Disperse lemon slices on top if desired.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350 degF for 15-20 minutes depending on thickness of filet.
  • Remove fish from oven when still slightly dark pink in center.
  • Set oven to broil and give 5 minutes to heat.
  • Drizzle olive oil over fish filet.
  • Return to oven for 3-5 minutes under the broiler. Looking to lightly brown lemons if used and/or lightly brown top of fish.
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.
